Toya J is a Northern VA based, self- taught makeup artist with over 7 years of experience in the industry.  After discovering her love and passion for makeup by accident, she leaped into the industry head first by creating her first business as a freelancer.  She spent the next several years navigating the makeup world doing bridal work, editorial shoots, printed work, working at a makeup counter, and much more.  She had the privileged to be the lead makeup artist on the first edition of the Curves Ahead Project coffee table book shot by Mickey Armstrong.  This opportunity evolved into becoming the Director of Hair and Makeup for the District of Curves Full Figured Fashion Show since its creation.


The Toya J Brand has evolved many times over the years and now offers mentoring and coaching in the form of the Toya J Glam University.

Lead MUA-Jessica Marie

Jessica Marie is a Published Professional Makeup Artist born and raised in Baltimore, Maryland. Like any other true makeup addict and professional, Jessica’s interest in Makeup Artistry began long before her career in the Makeup Industry did.  Jessica Marie began taking makeup notes from her Mother who is now a semi-retired Plus Size Model, took classes  & notes from other Makeup Gurus in the Industry and her career  n the Industry began and took off from there. Jessica Marie provides and specializes in Precise, Natural and Flawless Makeup & Beauty Services for Bridal, Special Occasion, Daily Wear, Prom, Graduation, Film &Television, Runway/Fashion Shows, and not many can say Funerals as well.  Jessica Marie continues to  work with a wide range of Professional Makeup Companies and Shows. 





Lead Hairstylist- Givonshy Smith

On December 12th, 2011, Givonshy Smith began her competitive hair styling reign at Glenn Jackson’s Golden Scissors Awards in Washington, D.C. The show is proclaimed as the one of the biggest events in the hair world. Although Givonshy did not win first place, her hair design has uprooted her into many business ventures and media exchanges. From that show alone, Givonshy has managed to reach the front cover of the Washington Post’s Style section and have her model be the face of the Golden Scissors 2012.

From such success from her first show, she went on to begin to prepare herself for the next big thing, the Bonner Bros. Baltimore show. Bonner Bros. is legendary black hair Product Company, who has been hosting this competition for more than 30 years to bring out the brightest stars in the hair industry. Givonshy competed in the total overall look and took over with her interpretation of a Komodo dragon. The model was dressed head to toe, including makeup, as the slinky creature.Her much creative style and professional technique managed to obtain the 1st place trophy and prize of the competition.
